Diddy'sLadies Are Back, The Gorgeous Girls Of Danity KaneAre Working On Their New, As Yet Untitled Album.
2 Of Uis a track that has been put out as a 'preview', it is still unclear whether or not it will be the lead single. The song itself is really not good, while the production is solid, the lyrical value is crap; "Give It To Me 4 Times", WTF? Not feeling it, though it might grow on me.
It really annoys me that Danity Kane are so poor, from watching Making The Band it was obvious that all the girls have good vocals & the huge potential of the group was really exciting. I don't think the group are moving in the right direction, they need some Destiny's Childstyle R&B, not some Pussycat Dollreject pop records.
Here Is A Top Notch Remix Of "50's" "I Get Money", A Track I Previously Disliked Has Been Brought To Life By Two Kings Of The Game.
Both "Diddy" & "Jay Z" have jumped on this remix, which has been dubbed the "Forbes" remix, due to all 3 artists being numbers 1 - 3 on the Forbes Hip-Hop Rich List. I am really liking this mix & am glad it has been getting airplay, much better than the original.
Yeah, It's Been A Slow Day In The World Of Urbantainment, Just Thought I'd Show You Guys A Pic That I Thought Was Hilarious.
This shot was taken at the "Screamfest" concert tour, which reached NY yesterday (22nd), in a rare & unexpected colab appearance from "Jay Z", "Diddy", "Kanye" & "50". I'm sure the photo was just taken at the wrong time, still, fiddy looks awful lonely over there by himself. Ha.
What Do You Make Of The Shot, & The Whole 'Fiddy, Kanye Stuff' Let Me Know?
Entrepreneur Rapper "Jay Z" Has Topped The "Forbes" Hip-Hop Rich List, Beating The Likes Of "Diddy" & "50 Cent". Check Out The Top #10 Below.
1. Jay-Z $34 million 2. 50 Cent $32 million 3. Diddy $28 million 4. Timbaland $21 million 5. Dr. Dre $20 million 6. Eminem $18 million 7. Snoop Dogg $17 million 8. Kanye West $17 million 9. Pharrell Williams $17 million 10. Scott Storch $17 million
After a year of top deals for Jay Z, including the sale of his "Rocawear" fashion line & Platinum selling comeback album "Kingdom Come", it is no surprise that he sits, firmly at the top of the rich list. Surprisingly, 'fiddy' has taken the number #2 spot from "Bad Boy" Diddy, who normally rivals for the top position.
After a fantastic year, "Timbo" stands proudly at number #4, I think it's great to see so many producers in the list, considering they pretty much make every record we hear on the radio, it's good to see them enjoying the pay cheques. If "Mosley Music" continues it's growth into the market, maybe one day he could take the top spot, only time will tell.
One thing the list lacks is a female presence, there are few ladies in the Hip-Hop market that could ever realistically enter the list, maybe it's time for "Missy" to take up the challenge.
What Do You Make Of The List's Positions, Let Me Know?
"Through The Pain" is a different take on Diddy's style, it's mid-tempo, soft sound provides a refreshing tune, without straying too far from the usual Puffy sound. R&B singer & friend of Diddy, "Mario Winans" provides the chorus & harmonies for what is a top track.
I'm not so sure that this will fair well in the charts, but never fear, Diddy already has a plan B. His next track, "Diddy Rock", produced by & featuring "Timbaland", plus "Twista" & "Shawnna", it is a colossal song that will surely continue Diddy's reign over the charts.
Check Out The Video Below & Let Me Know What You Think?
Yesterday Saw The UK Hold A Huge Scale Concert To Memory Of The Late Princess Of Wales, "Diana" On What Would Have Been Her 46th Birthday.
As well as some of the Princess' favourite musical acts including "Sir Elton John", there was a large array of modern music from "Lily Allen" to "Fergie" & "Nelly Furtado". Here are my favourite highlights from the show.
Diddy - I'll Be Missing You
A fitting tribute from Mr Sean Combs, a song to remember the great "B.I.G" was transformed into a 'celebration of life' for Diana. His performance was very over the top, with some 'cringe' worthy moments but he means well in his ways & I only have respect for the man. In the end it was a very emotional performance from a man who was obviously feeling the moment, a great tribute.
Nelly Furtado - Man Eater
Nelly did a few tracks, but performance wise this was definately the best, she really got the crowd going & was on top form, her vocals were great & her confidence in front of such a large crowd on such a special occasion was phenomenal. Whoa Nelly!
Kanye West - Medley
Kanye is on fire in this performance, he mixed a medley of his hits together in an awesome show, he ripped up the stage like no one else. Highlights included "Touch The Sky", "Gold Digger" & his fantastic new track "Stronger". Definitive performer of the evening without a doubt.
Obviously we can't forget why all these acts were together, to remember & to celebrate the life of Diana, Princess Of Wales. She was a national treasure to the people of the UK, someone who crossed boundaries & touched peoples lives, she Will be forever missed & forever remembered. R.I.P.
What Did You make Of The Concert & The Performers, Would Love To Hear Any Comments?
I Am Happy To Say That This Is The Next Single To Be Lifted From "Diddy's" Smash Hit Album "Press Play".
"Through The Pain" maybe a strange single choice, but a hot track none the less, co-written & featuring vocals from "Mario Winans" it shows Diddy as an R&B & Hip-Hop artist. I really like this track, but then again I pretty much adore the whole album, I'm sure this will be a top #10 hit & can't wait to see the video.
Incidentally & maybe more importantly, Diddy's last single will be the fantastic "Diddy Rock", possibly the best track from the album.
While I & Many Others Believed That Hip-Hop Mogul "Diddy" Had Moved On From His 2006 Hit Album "Press Play", Apparently Not.
According to "MTV" Mr Combs is due to release at least two more singles from the record, one of which will be "Diddy Rock" which features producing superstar "Timbaland". I'm really excited about this track, it is a definate highlight of the brilliant album & one of my favourites, Diddy is reportedly shooting the video right now, & it promises to be a huge track, once it is officially confirmed I will post a link.
In other Diddy news, he has finally quashed rumours of "Cassie's" departure from "Bad Boy Records" & announced that she is busy in the studio & will also become the face of "Sean John Women", the female clothing line from Diddy. I think that the whole 'split' thing was a good PR move to get Cassie's name back on the scene before her second album drops later this year.
If you haven't got a copy of Press Play I urge you to grab one, it was without a doubt the best produced album of last year & one of my personal favourites of 2006. If you want to know more, read my review here.
The "BET" Awards Took Place Last Night In the US, Here Are A Couple Of Highlights Of The Night.
The first is a mini "Destiny's Child" reunion in the shape of a cross over performance from "Beyonce Knowles" & "Ms Kelly Rowland", with vocal power Beyonce can flaw Kelly hands down, but Ms Rowland has certainly improved her vocals as well as her stage presence, she was not in B's shadow & with the backup of "Eve" the performance was a strong one.
I would have liked to see the two tracks mashed up together as it would have been good to have heard B & kells together again, but it is very cool none the less.
The second highlight came from "Diddy" with a remix of his smash "Last Night", this was visually very pleasing, with Diddy doing his part very well, a questionable piece from "Lil Kim" but "Keyshia" stole the show, she is hot property, with her vocals killing the performance.
Rap Legends Diddy & Snoop Announced That They Were Cancelling Their Entire UK Tour.
This comes after Snoop Dogg was refused his application for a visa to enter the UK to work, because of a charge he faced last time he visited the UK.
Ever the diplomat Diddy, talking to the BBC said: "I know that Snoop is a great guy, a positive guy, and I'm not throwing any stones at the Home Office or at the government. Everybody has their own laws and their own rules in their own countries, and, you know, we're going to respect them"
Still it's a disappointment to loads of people, Diddy & Snoop together would have been quality. Luckily for some, their tour will continue in Dublin at the end of this month.
Snoop Dogg Has Been Denied A Visa Application That Would Allow Him To Perform Here In The UK.
The 35 year old is due to perform alongside Diddy on Tuesday night in London, even if the visa request is denied this event will still be going ahead, but with Snoop on a video link rather than in person.
Snoop has already been charged with violent disorder last year at Heathrow airport in London, but escaped with a police caution. He is also currently facing weapons and drugs charges in the US stemming from three separate arrests in 2006.
Whatever the outcome, Diddy & Snoop in the same show is going to be amazing
As we are well into the new year now, I thought I should review my favourite album of last year, although it was slammed my many people as over commercial rubbish there was nothing else that struck me like this last year.

Diddy, P. Diddy, Puff Daddy, Sean John, Sean Combs, Puffy... Whatever he calls himself these days, the master of Hip-Hop production returned late 2006 with Press Play, his latest & in my opinion greatest studio album to date.
All the hate in the world could not stop this record, & believe me, critics have tried, from the offset this album hits you like no other with the calm, well rhymed lyrics on the intro, the well defined, well designed chapters soon become apparent with the mainly solo part of the album with tracks 1, 3, & 4. The mood is soon set into one that is the ego increasing, me me me style that is Diddy, the ego inflating "Future" is the ultimate brag track.
We are soon sent into the bulk of the album with the collaborations which include; Nicole Scherzinger, Christina Aguilera, Nas, Cee-Lo, Brandy, Keyshia Cole, Mary J. Blige, Timbaland, Twista, Big Boi, Ciara and Scar just to name a few. The commanding power of Diddy is obviously put to use to bring some fantastic artists together on the same LP.
Highlights of the album definitely include Last Night featuring Keyshia Cole (which will be the 3rd single from the album), Diddy Rock featuring Timbaland, Twista and Shawnna, which features some of the tightest production values I have ever heard on a track plus the fantastic Thought You Said featuring Brandy, this is most definitely the one for me, it features Drum & Base inspired production & beats of which I have never seen from a US artist with the calibre of Diddy, it is brilliantly original with a very energetic, powerful feel to it.
Already the jealousy bug has bitten Diddy over this album, it has been slammed by many a critic who sometimes fairly say it is not Hip-Hop. I agree it is not old school or original Hip-Hop, but it shouldn't be judged for this. It is pure, beat driven, commercial incredible produced R&B, if you can accept it for what it is then maybe you will see the brilliance of this record & maybe you will feel the beat too.
