"TS7 ft. Tonia - Smile"

Posted In: , , , , . By M@rk

This One Is For The UK, It's Got A Very Specific Taste, But I Can't Get Enough Of It.

Although
Drum & Base/Garage music gets very little airplay, it has a huge underground following in the UK & I know this is a very sought after tune. It took me a while to find a copy. TS7 have killed it with Smile, this track is an amazing example of a very energetic genre of music.

This will not be a favorite of regular readers but I thought I would post it to get it some exposure. By the way it is ripped from a compilation CD so it mixes at the end, but it's the best I got at the minute. If you want to check out more of TS7's music, click Here

Here Is The Brand New Video From British Grime Artists M.I.A.

Her latest single Paper Planes is a definite highlight from her amazing album; Kala. M.I.A is of a particular taste & if you don't get her then that's sort of understandable, but she receives a 'cult' following from her fans, once you love her, there is no going back.

Not loving the video that much, nor the fact that the gunshots have been edited out, it was sort of a big part of the record. Still this is for an American audience, so I suppose we are lucky it even gets played. If you like M.I.A or are interested in hearing her music, check out the video below.

Here Is The Brand New Video From Celebrity Drunk; Amy Winehouse.

Love Is A Losing Game
is a pretty obvious final single from her fantastic album Back To Black. I am really loving this song, which totally surprises me, it's not really my thing, but it is stunning all the same.

I don't really get the video, Amy isn't dead, not yet anyway, so why the strange 'recap' sort of video? Still I can't hate on her or the track, I honestly think that this album is a modern classic & will be remembered as milestone in music.

Let's hope that Amy can sort herself out, she needs help, but to get that, she has to want it. If she can get clean, I think this woman can be recognized as an international superstar, like the UK hasn't seen in a long time.

Continuing The Support Of The UK Artists, Here Is The Brand New Video From Asian Star Jay Sean.

Ride It has an R&B feel with some solid vocals & is a strong representation of the Desi Beat Sound, which is growing support in the UK urban scene. This is a slick record & I am really feeling it, this guy is back on the block & I love it.

In my opinion, Jay Sean, & other UK artists can easily match or beat their US counterparts, this track is far better than a lot of songs on Mario's current album. It is a real shame that the international music scene cannot grasp the amount of underground talent on the shores of Britain, your missing out!

What Do You Think Of The Track?
Or The Video?
Love To Get Some Opinion...

After Significant Success In The UK Charts With Her First Two Singles, Here Is The Video For Mutya Buena's Third Solo Single.

I featured this song months ago as a highlight of her album Real Girl, & I'm glad it has been picked as a single. It's also great to her Amy Winehouse giving her vocal ability & the hype that goes with her name to a smaller artist.

The video is not up to much, very disappointing, & unsurprisingly Amy didn't manage to make the video shoot. Mutya is not looking good in this video, shoot the stylist! I have been proved wrong by this girl, I predicted that the ex Sugababe would fail as a solo artist, but even I'm wrong sometimes. Jokes!

Here Is The Second Single From The New Album By UK Rapper "Kano".

"Feel Free" features fellow Brit "Damon Albarn" & shows a more serious side to Kano; with it's catchy chorus & rhythm, plus an eerie video, this one should be a hit. Still, it's the 'lyrical fiyah!' that makes me love this song, Kano absolutely kills it, perfect flow, prominent vocals & strong lyrics makes this the number one example of the UK Hip-Hop scene.

The video itself is very British, the strange children, crappy weather & camera shots bring a very wintry feel to the track, I'm still feeling it though. Check Out The Video Below & Let Me know What You Think?

Just Short Of It's November 12th Release Date, "Leona Lewis'" Debut Album Has Leaked.

"Spirit" has so far received a poor reception from critics & music reviewers, but so far I have been quite impressed, so I think it may be people hating on the whole "X-Factor" thing. Still I will give it a listen & give my opinion in a review.

For now, check out Leona's Spirit below & let me know your thoughts. As always, grab a retail copy of the album if you like it!

If You Are A Regular Reader, You Will Remember Me Featuring "M.I.A's" Current Album; "Kala".

For those who don't know, M.I.A is a UK Grime & Hip-Hop artist who has been making waves over the past few years, she is not mainstream or commercial & thus does not make it into the charts. Still, she is one of the most inventive, creative artists I have ever heard, she is good friends with "Timbaland" & as a result, gets the hottest producers on her records.

"Paper Planes" will be her 3rd single to be lifted from one of the 'illest' albums of the year ( a personal pick from 2007). I know Paper Planes is a firm fan favorite from the album, although I'm quite surprised she decided to use it as a single, still none of the tracks are exactly commercial.

Just a note, you may have seen at this years "EMAs" there was an award that was voted for by musicians, there was a small VT with a lot of well known faces making their opinion know. To my amazement, "Nicole Scherzinger" suggested M.I.A should win the award, which totally changed my opinion of the former "Pussycat Doll".

While "Leona Lewis" Enjoys Unbelievable Success In The UK Charts With Her Smash Hit "Bleeding Love" (250,000 sales & growing), The Second Single (Unconfirmed) From Her Debut Album Has Been Leaked.

"Angel" seems to confirm exactly what I feared about this girl, it is just too 'Poppy'
, even though it has been produced by "Stargate", it almost fails on the R&B front & sounds like a pop song, not a bad one, but still a disappointment.

My excitement over this girl has not yet been squashed, she is still the most talented singer I have heard in about a decade & her album "Spirit" may contain some solid album tracks, only time will tell. Check Out The Track & See What You Think?

Here Is The Video Premiere For One Of My Favorite Tracks At The Moment.

"Estelle" has taken her time with this track, it surfaced months ago, but there wasn't any word from the star on when it would be released, I'm thinking there was a little behind the scenes stuff going on.

Still, here she is with a pretty standard video to a great song, produced by "Will.i.am", "Wait A Minute" (Official song title, not 'Just A Touch') has a feel good factor to it that I love. This song has been on constant rotation with me for weeks now, I hope it is a smash.

Here Is The Latest Video From Crazed UK R&B Group;"Unklejam".

For those who don't know, Unklejam are one of the UK's most unique groups, their strange concoction of styles range from Pop to Electro to R&B & Soul, & they are making waves among the urban music scene.

While this track does not seem on par with their last two singles, it is still a very cool song with a super stylish video. I am really feeling Unklejam, & I hope that their debut album actually sees the light of day, as subsequent delays are a very bad sign.

Check Out The Video Below, If You Are Not From The UK, I Especially Want To Know Your Opinion's On Unklejam & The Track, So Please Leave A Comment.

Here Is A Brand Spanking New Track From Soon To Be Superstar "Leona Lewis".

"Forgiveness" is the official B-side to the UK single release of "Bleeding Love", although it is more Pop than R&B is very well sung & shows Lewis' potential as a vocalist. Fortunately (IMO) this track has not been included in the album, which is a promising sign.

To be honest, this girl Cannot fail, I think she will truly be a megastar, whether she will be the next "Mariah" is yet to be decided. If you live in the UK, you can see Leona perform her new single on Saturday Night's "X-Factor", for now check out the track below & see what you think.

The Soon To Be Leading Lady Of UK R&B "Leona Lewis" Finally Debuts The Video For Her Brand New Single "Bleeding Love".

I'm not quite sure what I was expecting for this video, but it wasn't this, with throwbacks to "Mariah Carey's" "We Belong Together" video (IMO), Leona is looking like a superstar, gone are the "X-Factor" days of being shy & sheepish. She is looking on-point, sexy while still remaining very humble.

It is very exciting to finally see a female from the UK who can honestly be a global superstar, I only hope that her album will contain more R&B rather than more pop tracks. This girl needs to take charge & Represent for the UK scene, which is almost non-existent at the moment.

After A Very Long Spell Out Of The Lime Light, "Hot Stuff" See's The Return Of UK Artist; "Craig David".

I had endured this guy's music for quite a few years previously & had never really liked it, nor him, so I was geared up to Hate this track, but surprisingly, I don't. While it is far from perfect & Craig still annoys the hell out of me, this is a pretty cool track, even the obvious sample adds a catchy feel to it.

Not feeling the guy, but am liking the track, maybe Craig has found a flow that suits him. But with his new album "Trust Me" looming for a November 12th release, Craig still has plenty of time to mess up.

The First Lady Of UK Hip-Hop Is Back, With Her New Single "Wait A Minute".

"Estelle" has been working with the top names of US producers, including "Kanye West" & "Will.i.am", the latter is the producer of this track. I heard this song so long ago, but have only just managed to get hold of a webrip copy.

Estelle's new album, "Shine" (unconfirmed title) is due for release early next year, on "John Legend's" record label; "Home School Records". It will reportedly feature production & collaborations from "Swizz Beatz", "Mark Ronson", "Cee-Lo", "Wyclef Jean" & record boss John Legend.

I think Estelle is one of the best artists to emerge from the UK in recent times & can't wait to hear more from her album, this track is going to be around for sometime to come.

Here Is The New Video From UK R&B Artist "Anusha".

Born in Wales & educated in the same school as "Charlotte Church", Anusha contributes her love of music to her parents, who listened to a diverse mix of artists. While at university, Anusha was spotted by UK producer "Chris Patrick" who introduced her to the urban music scene.

Below is her debut video, which is Hot! This girl maybe what the UK has been looking for, she feels like a mix of "Jamelia" & "Misteeq", I will be keeping my eye on this one as she looks set to do well. Check Out The Video & Let Me Know What You Think?

Note: It's not just me backing Anusha, "Diddy" identified her as "One To Watch" after hearing this track.

Here Is The Brand New Single From Former "X-Factor" Winner; "Leona Lewis".

"Bleeding Love" is a 100% smash hit, it's catchy flow & hook are complimented well by some solid 'Pop' production & on-point vocals from Leona. I have been backing Ms Lewis since the start, my reputation may have gone down a lot but; This Will Be A Number #1.

Leona has a pitch perfect voice, she can certainly rival "Celine Dion" (this track sounds surprisingly like her) & even "Whitney". I hope that her work with "Ne-Yo" will produce something a little more 'respectable' than this pop medley, but it is a grower & I do quite like it.

Here Is A Top UK Tune That I Am Really Loving At The Moment, While The Track Is Based On A Dance Rhythm, It Also Has A Throwback Sound from the UK 'Garage' Scene That Was Huge At The Beginning Of The Decade.

To be honest, I do not known anything about the artists involved, the track has been created by "T2" & features "Jodie Aysha" As my expertise is based in the Hip-Hop & R&B world, I no nothing of either artist, if any of you guys know about them, or any other tracks they have made, I would love to hear from you.

For now, check out the track, if you like the 'Garage' sound, or the modern dance scene, you wil love this one.

Although Not Confirmed By The Record Label, "Hussel" Is Generally Regarded To Be The Next Single From UK Grime Artist "M.I.A".

This, in my opinion, is no where near the Pinnacle of M.I.A's album; "Kala", but it's still a very solid single, it's proud production is complimented well by the solid tones of "Afrikan Boy".

It's a shame that Kala has not seen the sales or chart positions that where predicted, this is a truly great album. The production, while not as 'Orthodox' as some mainstream artists, is so original & full of energy that it makes for a 'tripped out' sound that, as times, takes your breathe away.

If you are looking for mainstream beats & vocals, this is probably not for you, but if you appreciate original production & something a bit different, grab it now!

Here Is A Track That I Have Been Really Enjoying Over The Past Few Weeks, I Am Aware It Is Not New, But Considering Over Half My Readers Are Not From The UK, Chances Are You Haven't Heard Of This Guy. Yet!

Introducing "Taio Cruz", the UK's version "Ne-Yo". Taio started his musical life as a producer & songwriter, he is part of the group that wrote "Rihanna's" world-wide smash "Umbrella" & requested the track to be signed to him for his forthcoming album "The Movie", it was put on hold for him, until "Jay Z" came knocking.

Disappointed with the state of the UK R&B scene (it really doesn't exist), he moved onto producing for US artists, until coming to the realisation that he could write, produce & perform his own material far better than anyone else could.

Here Taio is with his video for "Moving On", take a look & keep on the look out for this guy, he is hot property.
