Here Is The Brand New Video From British Grime Artists M.I.A.

Her latest single Paper Planes is a definite highlight from her amazing album; Kala. M.I.A is of a particular taste & if you don't get her then that's sort of understandable, but she receives a 'cult' following from her fans, once you love her, there is no going back.

Not loving the video that much, nor the fact that the gunshots have been edited out, it was sort of a big part of the record. Still this is for an American audience, so I suppose we are lucky it even gets played. If you like M.I.A or are interested in hearing her music, check out the video below.

If You Are A Regular Reader, You Will Remember Me Featuring "M.I.A's" Current Album; "Kala".

For those who don't know, M.I.A is a UK Grime & Hip-Hop artist who has been making waves over the past few years, she is not mainstream or commercial & thus does not make it into the charts. Still, she is one of the most inventive, creative artists I have ever heard, she is good friends with "Timbaland" & as a result, gets the hottest producers on her records.

"Paper Planes" will be her 3rd single to be lifted from one of the 'illest' albums of the year ( a personal pick from 2007). I know Paper Planes is a firm fan favorite from the album, although I'm quite surprised she decided to use it as a single, still none of the tracks are exactly commercial.

Just a note, you may have seen at this years "EMAs" there was an award that was voted for by musicians, there was a small VT with a lot of well known faces making their opinion know. To my amazement, "Nicole Scherzinger" suggested M.I.A should win the award, which totally changed my opinion of the former "Pussycat Doll".

What Do You Think Of M.I.A,
Your Opinion's Are Always Wanted?

Although Not Confirmed By The Record Label, "Hussel" Is Generally Regarded To Be The Next Single From UK Grime Artist "M.I.A".

This, in my opinion, is no where near the Pinnacle of M.I.A's album; "Kala", but it's still a very solid single, it's proud production is complimented well by the solid tones of "Afrikan Boy".

It's a shame that Kala has not seen the sales or chart positions that where predicted, this is a truly great album. The production, while not as 'Orthodox' as some mainstream artists, is so original & full of energy that it makes for a 'tripped out' sound that, as times, takes your breathe away.

If you are looking for mainstream beats & vocals, this is probably not for you, but if you appreciate original production & something a bit different, grab it now!

What Do You Make Of M.I.A,
Let Me Know Your Thoughts?

This Is The Brand New Video From "M.I.A" For Her New Single "Jimmy".

After featuring & doing a short review of "Kala", I have grown to like it even more, it's randomness is the key to why it is so good, it is just something different.

I approve of the second single choice, but I don't really like the video, I am aware that M.I.A is a smaller artist compared to the likes of "Beyonce" for example, but it has been proven many times that it is not too hard to make a good video with limited resources.

This vid just seems like an 80's throwback, & not is a quirky, cool way, in a cheap, dull kind of way. The sparkly dress & wicked colours don't make up for the fact it doesn't go anywhere. I much preferred the video for "Boyz".

"M.I.A - Kala"

Multi-Genre Artist "M.I.A" Returns With Here Second Album, & It Is Just As Bizarre As The First.

The British born star is currently prepping the release of "Kala", which features production from my two favourite producers; "Timbaland" & "Bangladesh", I have managed to obtain & leaked copy & have given it a listen.

The predominantly 'electronic' album is full of rich beats & sometimes 'eerie' sounds, which accumulate in an album that is strangely addictive. Highlights include; "Bird Flu", "Boyz" & "Come Around" which is also featured on Timbaland's UK release of "Shock Value".

This is definately not for the mainstream audience, but M.I.A has always acquired a devoted, cult following who will surely enjoy this offering, I am a fan of her innovation & love the different, unique sound that she always produces. This is not normally my 'sort' of album, but I still enjoyed listening to it & will continue to do so for some time to come.

Personally, I would like to see M.I.A & Tim do a full album together as this combination offers the best from both parties, the Tim produced tracks are generally the better ones from the album & provide that 'listen again' factor that I really like.

I Urge You To Give The Album A listen, It's Strange, 'Mystic' Sounds Are Something Very Different. I Would Love To know What You Guys Make of It.
