Here I The First Single & Video From The Debut Studio Album Of Rising Star "Tiffany Evans".
Although she is only 14 years old, you have to respect how well Tiffany has done for herself, she has already been signed to "Sony BMG" & has superstar producer "Timbaland" working on her debut album.
The track is very 'girlie', commercial & 'poppy', but you can see the potential of this girl, so it is worth a look.

The album itself is everything that you would expect from a modern R&B artist, with a mix of hot beats & slow melodies, it becomes apparent from the first full listen that there is far more of the latter. Highlights from the record include the current single "Like This" featuring female rapper "Eve", club banger "Come Back" & the sexy, up-tempo, unfortunately titled "Put It In".
When Kelly changed the name of this record, she was quoted as saying the album was: "too full of mid-tempos and ballads", I'm certainly glad she didn't release the original, as this release still suffers from the mentioned problem. The track positioning is some of the worst I have ever heard, with the first 4 tracks being relative fast paced, it is then proceeded with "Mid-tempos & ballads" from tracks 5 - 12, it is only saved with the "Da Brat" pickup "Gotsta Go". This unfortunate step makes it very hard to listen to all the way through & makes you want to skip so many tracks.
However, when you do reach the slower tracks this is where Ms. Kelly really shines & shows us where here talent lies, each one is well performed with solid vocals & a confident sound to Kelly's voice, this is a real improvement from her past ballad tracks on "Simply Deep". Stand out tracks here are the OTT love song "Show" featuring R&B star "Tank" & the emotionally soulful "Love", which I was pleasantly surprised by, Kelly's vocal talent is strong here, even with lower instrumentals she remains confident with her voice.
The most developed & memorable track for me is "Flashback", produced by "Charlie and Kenny Bereal", this track has a "Kelis" production feel to it. With it's rather random arrangement of beats from the offset, & it's perfectly timed vocals & soulful storytelling from Kelly, this one is hot.
Overall, Kelly Rowland provides us with a very enjoyable finished product, with slick production values from some of the hottest in the game, she does not disappoint with her vocal ability or her ability to get you to move your feet. The obvious comparisons have to be made to Beyonce's "B-Day", which to be fair beats kelly's efforts on most levels, apart from the ability to perform emotionally. B's album has a colder, faster paced feel to it, while Kelly remains confident whatever style she incorporates. Kelly has obviously become more confident as an artist, she demands respect & attention rather than wanting validation, which I have felt from her in the past, now she feels like she is hear to stay.
I fully encourage you, especially the ladies, to grab a copy of Ms. Kelly when it drops worldwide in in the coming couple of weeks. It has enough to leave you feeling fulfilled, I would have loved to hear something more adventurous & diverse from Kelly, but she does not disappoint, you get what you expect, modern R&B.

Former "G-Unit" Member "Olivia" Is Back, With An Independently Released Single & Album.
Here is her first single, "Cherry Pop", produced by & featuring veteran of the game "Missy Elliott". The track is an up-tempo, R&B, Hip-Hop mix, with a flavour of an 'old school' Missy track, with it's 'retro' beat backed up by some good vocals it is sure hit.
It's great to see Olivia release some solo material, especially after her falling out with "50 Cent", Missy was definately a good choice to help her out, but I'm not so sure about her releasing it independently? Then again, with the addition of whistles & air horn effects in this track, how can she go wrong? lol.

Prior To It's Release On The 25th Of June (UK), Here's "Kelly Rowland's" New Album "Ms Kelly".
This is one of the most anticipated R&B albums of this year, & after countless delays it is great to finally see it arrive. With main production from "Scott Storch" & tracks written by "Solange Knowles", it promises to be a real event from Kelly, I hope & expect it to fare better than her last album "Simply Deep".
I don't like to review albums until I have spun them a few times, you can never 'feel' an entire album in 1 or 2 listens. So, expect a review within the next week.
If you listen to the album & like it, go & grab a copy when it's officially released!
*Reminder, if you choose to download the album, you must legally delete it within 24 hours
(sorry, just have to cover myself)
"Shut Up & Drive" Is The Official Second Single From "Rihanna's" Number #1 Album "Good Girl Gone Bad".
This Rock tinged track has some simple, unfortunate, pop inspired lyrics, but looking past that is a hot single that should do well. It's not my favourite track from the album but will serve Riri well as a second single.
Check out the link & the video below, if your interest in the album, take a look at my Review.

It Is Being Reported That This Will Be The New Single From R&B Songstress "Alicia Keys".
It is entitled "Superwoman" & will appear on her new album, which is currently untitled & is set to drop this October. I have also included a video of her performing the track in the studio, even with it's poor sound quality Alicia's voice sounds outstanding, in my opinion she has one of the best voices in the recording world.

Here Is An Unexpected Remix Of "Ne-Yo's" Current Single "Do You".
It features the self proclaimed 'Queen Of Hip-Hop/Soul', the fantastically talented "Mary J Blige". I never really liked the original version of this track, it seemed plain & quite boring, but Mary has bought this track to life, she has really added something new & has given the record a much better feeling.
Why Ne-Yo didn't put her on the original I don't know, I'm sure it would have fared much better with his fans & hers. Although no track listing's are currently available for Mary J's new album, I'm sure Ne-Yo will feature on it, as he has been writing some tracks with her, which will undoubtedly be singles.

Yeah, I Hate Her Too.
One of the most annoying tracks of recent months has to have been the car crash single "Girlfriend", from Canadian 'mini rocker' "Avril Lavigne". Now a brand new, very surprising remix has emerged, with 'mini Missy Elliott', "Lil Mama".
The first time I heard people talking about Lil Mama, I thought it was cheap, over promoted crap, but the way she spits her lyrics in this track took me by surprise, she seems far more professional than you would expect from a 17 year old.
The track itself, is primarily crap, as you still hear the ridiculously annoying chorus (hey hey, you you), but look past that & listen to Lil Mama rap, & it becomes a very cool track with a girl who I hope is around in years to come.
Here Is The New Single & Video From The UK's Finest "M.I.A".
For those of you who don't know M.I.A, she is a UK Grime & Hip-Hop artist who has been producing music for a few years now, but has only started to find more major success over the past year or so. I first came across M.I.A's work when "Timbaland" invited her to work on a track with "Missy Elliott", entitled "Bad Man", it made the final cut of Missy's smash hit album "The Cookbook". She also appears on a UK bonus track from Tim's current record "Shock Value", Tim is currently working with M.I.A on her upcoming album "Kala".
M.I.A's current single "Boyz" has lead her to being played on more mainstream radio stations in the UK, even the 'Indie-pop' based "Radio 1". The track itself is more of the norm from M.I.A, it's energetic beat & rhythm make it a real summer tune, while the video is colourful, vibrant & generally tripped out. If this is the first time you have heard her music, give it a few spins as I'm sure you will get to like it.
