The Recent "VH1 Hip-Hop Honors" Held A Tribute To One Of The Greats Of Modern Urban Music; "Missy Elliott".

The performance accumulated some of Missy's greatest hits into a medley performed by past Elliott collaborators including genius producer "Timbaland", "Nelly Furtado", "Eve", "Fat Man Scoop", "Ciara", "Tweet" & "Keyshia Cole".

Missy is one of my favorite artists, I love her strange sense of style, her distinctive flow & her natural ability to push the boundaries of modern music. I cannot wait for her to reunite with Timbaland (the greatest Hip-Hop partnership ever IMO) on her new album; " ", which is due .

Here Is A Hot, Official Remix To "Keyshia Cole's" Current Single "Let It Go".

Although I wasn't an initial fan of the original track, I do like this remix, the production & added verse from Keyshia is hot, it has an 'old school' R&B feel to it.

Keyshia is on top form as always, this girl can do no wrong, her vocal ability is absolutely awesome & she still keeps that 'street' appeal that some R&B artists don't seem to have.

In A Sad & Somewhat Surprising Statement, Production God "Timbaland" Has Announced That He Is Soon Looking To "Throw In The Towel".

In a recent interview he is quoted as saying: "I'm about to de-crown myself and pass it over to one of the up-and-coming producers under me. They won't be able to be me - there's only one Timbaland - but there's a certain sound that I try to teach."
His reasons behind his intended retirement:
“Music is boring right now. I'm too innovative for the world. I've been doing it so long"

This is really not a good thing for music, Timbaland is the greatest producer in the world, period. His style & innovative beats cannot be matched by anyone, his work with "Aaliyah" is some of the best contemporary R&B ever created, & his "Missy" production is so cool it is beyond words.

Tim has spoken about his boredom of music before but I never thought that he would retire now that he has become so popular with mainstream audiences. Admittedly he never seemed 'content' with what he was doing, I always expected more from Timbo, this almost seems like his is giving up, rather than trying to change the sound of music.

At least he is not on the way out yet, he has work penned with "Madonna", "Muse" & at least one more album with Missy Elliott among others. I don't believe this is the end for Tim, I think he will move on from producing to work on his record label, "Mosley Music" has the potential to be the next "Bad Boy" or "Def Jam", just wait for "Keri Hilson".

Long Live The King.

Former "G-Unit" Member "Olivia" Is Back, With An Independently Released Single & Album.

Here is her first single, "Cherry Pop", produced by & featuring veteran of the game "Missy Elliott". The track is an up-tempo, R&B, Hip-Hop mix, with a flavour of an 'old school' Missy track, with it's 'retro' beat backed up by some good vocals it is sure hit.

It's great to see Olivia release some solo material, especially after her falling out with "50 Cent", Missy was definately a good choice to help her out, but I'm not so sure about her releasing it independently? Then again, with the addition of whistles & air horn effects in this track, how can she go wrong? lol.
