Kelly Rowland Has Premiered The Video For Her New US Single Daylight.

It features Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes & will provide the sound track for the new movie - Astérix At The Olympic Games. Although I feel the track is too 'poppy', the rap lyrics annoy me & it feels pretty lame. I do think that the song will be a success for Kelly, which is what she really needs.

The video is not up too much either, very poor edits of the movie, & pretty low budget. I don't think this one will be remembered as a highlight of Kelly's career, still I am a real fan of Ms Kelly & hope the re-release comes up with something stronger than this.

What Do You Make Of The Video?

Finally! The Video For Kelly Rowland's Next UK Single Has Been Released.

Work is a personal favorite of mine from the poor performing Ms Kelly, which is now experiencing a re-release. I'm puzzled why this track is not a world single, I think it's equally as good as Like This.

The video is hot, it's faced paced camera shots & cool choreography match the track well, this will be a club banger over the coming months. I hope that this is the start of a long run of solid singles, this lady cannot afford another round of poor sales, otherwise her only hope is a Destiny's Child reunion.

As Kelly Rowland Makes The Final Preparations For The Re-Release Of Her Ill-Fated Album Ms Kelly, Here Is The Return Single.

Daylight is a high-tempo 'R&B-Pop' record which features Travis McCoy of the Gym Class Heroes. When I first heard rumors of this track I was pretty excited, I imagined a 'Club-Banger' with some 'Fire Production'.

Instead we are left with a middle of the road record which is leaves you unfulfilled & disappointed, Kelly is deeper than this, her original album contained some top tracks, solid production & heart-felt input from the R&B star. The poor sales IMO were due to the poor PR & lack of effort from the record company.

I heard rumors that Kelly was thinking of quiting the music scene, I'm afraid to say, if she can't pull something out to match former band mate Beyonce then that might soon be a reality. I hope that does not happen.

As Some Of You Will Already Know, After Very Poor Sales Of "Kelly Rowland's" Latest Album, She Has Decided To Make A 'Special Edition', With New Material.

I am not a fan of any re-releases, I think it cheats the real fans who bought the album when it debuted (Like Myself). Plus, I think that "Ms Kelly" was a really solid offering, beating most commercial R&B albums released this year, hands down.

Here is what will apparently be the album cover for the record (not confirmed), I have no track listings as of yet, but I will keep you posted, so keep it locked to Urban Review.

Did You Get The Original,
Tempted By The Re-Release,
Let Me Know?

Here Is the Video Premiere For "Kelly Rowland's" New US Single, "Ghetto".

The track features an old favorite of the colab, "Snoop Dogg" & is set to be the start of a re-release campaign for her ill-fated album; "Ms Kelly". I don't agree with re-releases at all, if an album is not ready, Do Not Put It Out There! The original was strong enough to take on anything in the R&B world at the moment, if it were managed & promoted better it may have succeeded.

Anyway, the video for Ghetto is pretty hot, there are some moments that don't quite cut it, but the feel & style is pretty solid. Check It Out & Let Me Know What You Think?

Feeling The Track, What About The Album,

R&B Star "Kelly Rowland" Has Collapsed During A Live Performance In Nigeria.

While on a promotional tour for her new album "Ms Kelly" the video below was shot, it shows Kells falling down in the middle of a performance of "Like This". Early reports are that she is fine & her people are saying that she passed out due to dehydration.

Haters have already started rumours that it was part of Kelly's performance, to raise hype for her failing album. I truly don't believe that she would do that for her personal gain, & even if she did, it would have been on stage in New York with the world watching, not on an un-filmed tour of Nigeria, she isn't stupid.

Check Out The Short Clip Below & Make Your Own Decisions, I Would Love To Know Your Thoughts?

I Wish Kelly All The Best & Hope She Recovers Quickly.

"Ms. Kelly" brings a welcome return to former "Destiny's Child" star Kelly Rowland, it is her second album since the band split in 2004 & is an obvious competitor to former band mate "Beyonce Knowles". After constant delays & a name change, some did wonder if the record would ever see the light of day, but after a long wait here it is, with some strong songwriters & hot producers, it promises to be a highlights of the R&B year.

The album itself is everything that you would expect from a modern R&B artist, with a mix of hot beats & slow melodies, it becomes apparent from the first full listen that there is far more of the latter. Highlights from the record include the current single "Like This" featuring female rapper "Eve", club banger "Come Back" & the sexy, up-tempo, unfortunately titled "Put It In".

When Kelly changed the name of this record, she was quoted as saying the album was: "too full of mid-tempos and ballads", I'm certainly glad she didn't release the original, as this release still suffers from the mentioned problem. The track positioning is some of the worst I have ever heard, with the first 4 tracks being relative fast paced, it is then proceeded with "Mid-tempos & ballads" from tracks 5 - 12, it is only saved with the "Da Brat" pickup "Gotsta Go". This unfortunate step makes it very hard to listen to all the way through & makes you want to skip so many tracks.

However, when you do reach the slower tracks this is where Ms. Kelly really shines & shows us where here talent lies, each one is well performed with solid vocals & a confident sound to Kelly's voice, this is a real improvement from her past ballad tracks on "Simply Deep". Stand out tracks here are the OTT love song "Show" featuring R&B star "Tank" & the emotionally soulful "Love", which I was pleasantly surprised by, Kelly's vocal talent is strong here, even with lower instrumentals she remains confident with her voice.

The most developed & memorable track for me is "Flashback", produced by "Charlie and Kenny Bereal", this track has a "Kelis" production feel to it. With it's rather random arrangement of beats from the offset, & it's perfectly timed vocals & soulful storytelling from Kelly, this one is hot.

Overall, Kelly Rowland provides us with a very enjoyable finished product, with slick production values from some of the hottest in the game, she does not disappoint with her vocal ability or her ability to get you to move your feet. The obvious comparisons have to be made to Beyonce's "B-Day", which to be fair beats kelly's efforts on most levels, apart from the ability to perform emotionally. B's album has a colder, faster paced feel to it, while Kelly remains confident whatever style she incorporates. Kelly has obviously become more confident as an artist, she demands respect & attention rather than wanting validation, which I have felt from her in the past, now she feels like she is hear to stay.

I fully encourage you, especially the ladies, to grab a copy of Ms. Kelly when it drops worldwide in in the coming couple of weeks. It has enough to leave you feeling fulfilled, I would have loved to hear something more adventurous & diverse from Kelly, but she does not disappoint, you get what you expect, modern R&B.

*** 3 1/2 Stars

Prior To It's Release On The 25th Of June (UK), Here's "Kelly Rowland's" New Album "Ms Kelly".

This is one of the most anticipated R&B albums of this year, & after countless delays it is great to finally see it arrive. With main production from "Scott Storch" & tracks written by "Solange Knowles", it promises to be a real event from Kelly, I hope & expect it to fare better than her last album "Simply Deep".

I don't like to review albums until I have spun them a few times, you can never 'feel' an entire album in 1 or 2 listens. So, expect a review within the next week.

If you listen to the album & like it, go & grab a copy when it's officially released!

As News Was Announced Today That "Kelly Rowland's" Second Album Is To Be Pushed Back 1 Week, This Track Also Leaked.

It is called "Come Back", produced by "Scott Storch", this is a real 'club banger' which is extremely rare from Kelly.

I really like this track, I think I will like it even more the more I listen to it, it's good to hear Ms Rowland do something a bit different.

Here Is The Cover Of "Kelly Rowland's" Highly Anticipated New Album "Ms Kelly".

I'm looking forward to this one quite a bit, he last offering was pretty credible, & all reports so far look good for her second record. Whether it will quite be as good as Beyonce's latest, only time will tell. One thing is for sure, it Will not sell anywhere near what B-Day has so far.
